The bond between Fuencaliente and wine finds its foremost expression in this fountain. Its name is “Fuente del Vino” (Wine Fountain), although you will only see it fulfilling its purpose during the Fiestas de la Vendimia, the grape harvest festival, in August.

Information

During the festivities, wine flows from the fountain, which holds three thousand litres. Since 2007 it has been one of the central events of the festival, together with the caballos fuscos (the “dusky horses”), the versadores (improvising verse singers) and the romería, the pilgrimage with the floats that the residents of each neighbourhood build to hand out, free of charge, traditional dishes such as escachón, papas arrugadas (Canarian wrinkled potatoes) or frangollo, along with the municipality's fine wines. A tribute to the senses!
