Fuencaliente

Centres and museums

Fuencaliente explains its territory in five small and very different centres. The San Antonio Volcano Visitor Centre, next to the crater, tells the volcanic history of the island and gives access to the rim of the 1677 volcano and its astronomical viewpoint. At the southern tip, inside the old lighthouse of 1903, the Marine Reserve Interpretation Centre shows the seabed of the south-west coast, and next to it the Ocean of the Future Interpretation Centre, opened in 2025, explains how the CO₂ seeps of this coast foreshadow the sea of the coming decades. The Fuencaliente Salt Pans, a Site of Scientific Interest, can be visited freely and have a shop. In Los Canarios, the Artesol Craft Centre exhibits and sells the work of the municipality’s craftswomen, and the Regulatory Board of the La Palma Wines P.D.O. receives the public at its headquarters.

Opening hours change with the season and it is worth confirming them by phone before going; the phone numbers and addresses are in the list below.
