Two of the oldest traditions of Fuencaliente have their home here. The Caballos Fuscos, horse figures made of rods and cloth that dance to the sound of a polka, have come out in the district since the end of the 19th century. The Viejas Solteronas de Los Quemados, a burlesque dance with four musicians and ten women dressed in old-fashioned clothes, were founded in the mid-1960s and take part in the Grape Harvest Festival every year.
In July the district celebrates the festivities of the Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, a devotion of Cuban origin brought back by returning emigrants: opening speech, parade of the Caballos Fuscos with the Municipal Band, the appearance of the Viejas Solteronas, mass and procession. The centre has also hosted gatherings of remembrance, such as that of the residents who lived through the Teneguía eruption of 1971.
